MycoScan — AI-powered mold analysis

MycoScan is our own way of reading your sample under the microscope — built to be more thorough and more consistent than the way it's usually done. Instead of hand-counting a small patch of the slide and estimating the rest, MycoScan photographs your entire slide in sharp focus and finds every spore on it, identifying each one the same way every time. An analyst then double-checks anything the system isn't sure about, so an expert signs off on the result. You get a count from your whole sample — with photos of exactly what was found.

This is what the standard should have been all along — read the whole sample instead of a fraction, identify every particle the same way every time instead of by eye, and show you the proof instead of just a number. We didn't reinvent microscopy; we just did it the way it always should have been done.

The whole slide — not a fraction, extrapolated

A single microscope field can hold 700+ spores, and conventional labs read only a small fraction of the slide, then extrapolate to an estimate. MycoScan images the whole slide instead — so the count comes from the entire sample, the same way every time.

Expert Microscopy Analysis

Samples are examined at 400× magnification using a trinocular microscope. Fungal spores, hyphal fragments, pollen, and debris are identified by morphology and classified consistently, with the least-certain calls analyst-confirmed for repeatability.

Outdoor Reference

Indoor spore counts only mean something next to outdoor levels. Ideally an exterior sample is collected alongside yours; when one isn't, we compare against our own outdoor reference as a backup — so your results are never read in a vacuum.

Micrograph Documentation

Significant structures are photographed through the trinocular microscope. You see exactly what was found — not just numbers in a table.

Advanced Air Parameter Collection

Advanced building diagnostics — VOCs, CO, CO₂, formaldehyde, PM 1.0/2.5/10, relative humidity and surface moisture — are being added by arrangement as the lab expands.

You collect the sample on site — surfaces by tape-lift, swab or bulk piece; air onto a spore-trap cassette using a calibrated pump — then send it to the lab. (Homeowner air-sampling kits are launching soon.)

Samples are prepared with appropriate mounting media and dyes under a biosafety cabinet, then mounted onto microscope slides.

Samples are examined at 400× magnification. The whole slide is imaged so the entire sample is counted — not a hand-counted fraction. Every particle is detected, sorted and classified consistently, and the least-certain identifications are analyst-verified.

Bilingual Report

You receive a clear bilingual report with spore concentrations, micrograph photos, indoor-outdoor comparisons, and tailored recommendations.

What a result means: your report describes the sample you sent, at the spot and time it was taken. A clear result means nothing significant was found in that sample by microscopy — not a whole-home clearance — and microscopy can't measure gases, VOCs or ultrafine particles. When a closer, on-site look is warranted, we tell you.
